Intersection og Highway 1 and Union St / Martinsville blacktop (now Angling Road)
Highway 1 doesn’t go through Martinsville. You may be thinking of old 40.

Are you from this area? Have you visited the stores that are in the photo?
I left Martinsville 53 years ago and this isn’t Martinsville which is on old 40. I do think this might be West Union, IL which IS at the intersection of Route 1 and the Angling Road.
This location IS at the intersection of Highway 1 and the "Martinsville Blacktop". Those who actually live here still call the Angling Road the Martinsville Blacktop.
