This is a picture of the east side of the town of Oakland, IL. The Purina elevator is in the center of this picture. The tall bldg at the top of the picture is the Presbyterian Church, closed in the 1960's and later used as a "church museum". The Oakland United Methodist Church is the other church seen near the top left. The Purina Elevator was taken down and a new facility was built. The town square is just out of the picture to the left.
