This farm was purchased by the State of Illinois for the Fermilab project in 1969. It was owned by the Barkei family and listed as Site #70 in the Fermilab archives. The Fermilab development spent considerable time and effort (and money) to preserve houses which were in the way of the accelerator lab. The house in this photo was one of several moved across the street from the old Weston village, now at #14 Sauk Circle, south of Batavia Road.
