Corner of Army Trail and Bob-O-Link Drive (under construction above). A large barn had sat just to the right (east) of the garage behind the house. The land behind the house would become part of the Indian Lakes golf course. The land was swampy, as shown in a 1961 aerial image which must have followed a rain. The water hazards on the golf course would not have been difficult to construct.

The house is still there (243 Army Trail Rd).

Farm was owned by Ida Bender. Marie Scharlau and her family lived upstairs. Our family and theirs were good friends. We went to school with the Scharlau kids and remained good friends of Don and his family until his passing.
The farm was located on the North side of Army Trail Road and just East of Schmale Road Bloomingdale, IL
