The house here, and those in the next two photos, were part of a small aircraft owners community developed in the early 1960s. Some of the aerial images from the 1970s show as many as 6 small airplanes parked around the runway. The grass strip would have run close to the pool above, east-west along the north edge of Richfield Court. In 1988, aerial photos still show one airplane parked near the runway, but by 1993 the area was completely developed into residential housing.
The airplane parked in the grass is a 1958 Cessna 172, tail number N4288F.
I think this was Dal Campbells airstrip on Dunham Road, south of 75 Street. I went to Center Cass Elementary school with his son Danny.
