Wilbur Leith Farm

My great-uncle's farm. It no longer exists. He retired shortly after and sold it. Who-ever bought it sold it to the state for highway 37.

This was my home until 1966 when my Dad and Mom quit renting the farm. When this picture was taken we no longer lived there. A Brummer family starting renting from the Gibson family who owned the farm. It had a tunnel under highway 37 so that the cows could get to the pasture on the other side of the highway safely.

Wilber Leith was my grandfather, I grew up going back to my Dads hometown always hearing the stories about this place from my Dad and Aunts and Uncle! It was long gone by then, so it's wonderful to see it when it was still standing!

I lived at this home for eighteen and a half years. A great place to grow up on a farm in a small town of Mason IL. Many fond memories. Unfortunately all buildings are gone. Just a couple trees remain. It was a bean field this summer.
