This is the home my father Doren Smith had built around 1963. It's 1/2 mile south and 1/2 mile east of Stronghurst, Illinois. There are no trees in the yard so this picture is very soon after the house was built. The car in the garage looks like dad's '67 Impala SS. Note the basketball hoop in the corner of the back yard.

Just 1/4 mile east of this house was my grandparents' Albert and Cindy Smiths' house. After my grandparents passed, my Uncle Glen moved in with his wife Shirly and kids Glenda, Lori, Craig, and Nancy. Oh, and their dog Teddy. (Glenda may have been out of the house by then). It was really great having my cousins so close!
