this looks like Loda gas station
Loda, Illinois. View is W/SW. Today it’s the LODA BIG MART. That is U.S. 45 running across the bottom of the picture. If you look at the very bottom of the picture, you will see the line poles for the Illinois Central Railroad. It’s 1965, and CITIES SERVICE is changing its name to CITGO!!! ZZOOOMMM!! CITIES SERVICE is CITGO now!
Awesome capture of the changeover from Cities Service to Citgo! The pole sign has been changed to Citgo, but the building still has the Cities Service signage.
Did not notice this at the time…but I do see now that it is Terry’s Citgo (Cities Service). Gman, you are correct! An awesome photo of the changeover!!
