The end was near for Ritenour Concrete Products...in July 1971, the company put itself up for auction in an advertisement in The Pantagraph (Bloomington, IL). Lucky bidders could take home a form for pouring the Virgin Mary in concrete, or just buy the remaining inventory of already-made concrete Virgin Mary's.
