The east edge of the Lenkatis farm borders the Fair Oaks subdivision, where my grandfather built one of the original homes in the 1970s. My grandparents' wooded lot bordered the Lenkatis pasture. As a child, I remember walking through thick woods and brush to the edge of the pasture, which seemed like a major journey (decades later, Google Maps says it was less than 100 yards). I enjoyed exploring those woods and always hoped for a close encounter with a cow.
