This home, with the present-day address of 1858 Illinois 50 (originally RR1 Box 54) was built in 1949 by my father Harry Hoffman and his family (his parents and his brothers). My Grandfather dug the foundation by hand. It was our family home from 1949 until 1972. The adjoining subdivision property was owned (and developed) by my uncle, Alex Hoffman and his wife Virginia. Today (2015) this house looks entirely different as it was converted to a commercial property many years ago, and built onto. The original structure is still there on the north side of the warehouse and we visited the property two years ago. The garage in the back is still standing, virtually unchanged from this photo.
