Lennon Beverage

The Lennon Beverage Co. located on Rt. 120 (now Volo Village Rd.) was owned by James M. Lennon (1894-1961). He was an active member of the community, on the board of directors of the Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois, and formerly a theatrical producer and vaudeville actor. According to the Daily Sentinel (Woodstock IL) Tuesday, April 20, 1971: "The predecessor of the Lennon Beverage Company, Route 120 and Gilmer Road, Volo, was first established during Prohibiton (sic), when the late Jim and Mary Lennon, then known as "Papa and Mama Schlitz," entertained for the Schlitz Brewing Company, for beer. Jim and and Mary played the accordion. Following the repeal of Prohibition, the Lennons obtained a wholesale which was first established in Ingleside and subsequently relocated to the present address in Volo, over 25 years ago."

Hey, my great grandparents owned this building. I would love somehow to get this original photo. It brings back many memories for my dad/uncles/ aunts . Let me know what i can do to obtain this.
