Joe Wiser Farm corner of Gilmer Rd and U S 12 now Munson Marine and BP station

The road in the lower portion of the photo Rte. 12 near the Gilmer Rd. intersection (upper right) in Volo before it was a village. Since this photo, Rte. 120 was rerouted cutting through the farm property to bypass the Village of Volo and the Gilmer Rd. intersection was moved to enter Rte. 120 rather than Rt. 12. The original name of Rte. 120 through Volo was changed to Volo Village Rd.

Joseph A. Wiser (1915-1976) and his wife, Genevieve (Wright) Wiser (1920-2015) owned this property. The Wiser's held a farm auction in 1976. In 1983, plans were made to change the intersections and reroute the roads and the project was completed by 1994.
