Joe and. JENNY Tekampe. Fremont Center grade school now. West side
Wilhelm "William" Tekampe (1836-1911) arrived with his brother, Johan "John" Tekampe (1826-1895), in the mid-1850s from Bavaria (Germany). In the late 1800's he and his wife, Anna Margaretha (Firnbach) Tekampe (1840-1910) purchased this farm located on the west side of N. Fremont Center Rd. John's farm was adjoining to the south. After the death of John, William purchased his farm property. William's son, Joseph Francis Tekampe (1878-1969) and Margaretha (Lenzen) Tekampe (1880-1930) farmed this north property until Joseph's son, Joseph Vitus Tekampe (1916-1978) and Jeanne "Jennie" (Celba) Tekampe (1914-1992) farmed the land before the family sold it to the Fremont School District 79 in the late 1990's. William's son, John Michael Tekampe (1876-1943) owned the south farm.
