Deerfield High School
Looks like Woodland Park Elementary
This is not Deerfield High School, it's Woodland Park Elementary School. I attended this school for K-6 (with the exception of grade 1 when my dad took us to Ann Arbor, MI for a one year sabbatical). We lived just about due east of the school on Linden Ave. and my brothers and sisters and I walked to and from school everyday. We went home for lunch rather than eating in the lunchroom. I have many, many fond memories of this place!
Woodland Park closed as a public school many years ago and was rented to a special needs group. The school was torn down about 15 years ago. It is now park and athletic fields.
Woodland Park Elementary and baseball fields. School torn down less than 15 years ago. I'm a Wilmot Elementary (the still open k-5, was k-6 down the street) alum. Our Wilmot team had park district basketball practice there Monday nights in 5th and 6th grade 1974-76 We shared the gym for half the practice with the Woodland Park girls team. I live just north of what is now just a park. They should have kept the school.
Thank you all for the history about this photo. Sounds like this is no longer there does anyone know what is in this location today?
It is currently parkland with public athletic fields.
