NE corner of Grand Ave. and N. Riverside Dr., looking NE. The gas station is gone and now the land is used as a parking lot for a bank and Walgreens.

In 1972, Gurnee National Bank was established at this location. The front part of the building was the bank and the back half was the Warren-Newport Public Library. In 1978 the library required more space, based on the projected population growth and moved to its current location on O'Plaine Rd. The bank expanded into the available space. In 1996 the bank name was changed to Grand National Bank. In 2000 the bank merged into Old Kent Bank and finally in 2001 the bank changed its name to Fifth Third Bank and still is today.
