James B & Margaret (Berry) Walsh farmstead. Irish immigrants, they purchased this property in section 7 on 17 Feb 1875 from Michael L & Bridget (Berry) Prendergast; Margaret & Bridget were sisters. James & Margaret raised 9 children there. The road is the county line. In 1888 they bought a 2nd farm just down the road, but on LaSalle County side (photo 25-ILI-19 on this same roll).

Margaret died in 1912 & James in 1915. Their son James Patrick Walsh took over the farm, followed by his son John Bartholomew "Jack" Walsh.

The house and most of the farm buildings are no longer standing.
