Chapel Hill Road at Johnsburg Bridge. Current Waterfront Hotel and Wave Bar

Located at 3001 and 3009 N. Chapel Hill Rd. along the Fox River was a 2-acre lot with 2 homes, a barn for horses and lagoon that was for sale in 1967. The buildings were torn down and eventually Sasha's International Gourmet Restaurant was opened along the highway next to the bridge. In 1975, the restaurant was named Crescent Bay Landing (Dining with Sasha) and it included the Lazy Gourmet Shop. In December 1981, the Borre's restaurant was located here and in 1985 it was known as Rip Tides. In 1988, Archie Drury purchased the property and changed it to Paradise Cove along with the Harbor Lights Yacht Club. In April 1991, the Paradise Cove Motel was opened with 24 units and 50 boats slips. In October 1995, the new owners were Tom and Kathy Haley and Pat Corcoran. In 1999 the restaurant name changed to River and Blues Restaurant. The restaurant closed but the motel stayed open and was for sale in 2003. The property was annexed to Johnsburg in 2004 and in 2008 the motel still remained opened. In 2013, Mario Arcari purchased the 16 acre property, ran it as Paradise Cover for six months and opened it as Waterfront Hotel in May 2014 and completely remodeled the hotel rooms.
