I believe this is the farm I grew up on (until the mid 1990’s) although, it’s difficult to tell from the photo. Is this farm located at N RT 23, Marengo, IL? If so, this was originally the Jirsa dairy farm before my parents owned this property. Back in the 1930-50’s, it used to be the most picturesque dairy farm of the area. The barn from what I had been told had been turned around in the early 19th c. It had wooden stakes for nails and had been built to last. Unfortunately, the barn had been torn down in the late 1990’s and many of the original buildings are no longer there. I still have a lot of photos of the the farm before then.

hi marina, this is 1907rt23.my parents moved there in 1997& are still there.as of 2021.the barn had only wood shingles and about 30%of the roof was missing when they moved there in 1997.we did save many of the timbers and built a open air pavilion type structure on the same location.i could understand you not being sure about this not being your old place as you cant see the house or quanset shed hardly at all&what small sheds that are in the picture are long gone before 1997. you and i met a couple times way back when you were hanging with joe s. i &my parents would be intrested in the old farm pictures you mentioned if you are willing to share them. thanks, bill wayne jr.
