Intersection of West Florence Road and South Clover Road in Florence,Illinois
The house on the corner was the site of Florence Station School, a one-room schoolhouse. The school was in operation at least through the 1955-56 school year. In 1956 the Florence district joined Freeport District 145. At that time, the Freeport Journal-Standard (6/12/1956) described the school building as "not modern" and was "generally assumed that it will not be reopened." The school was sold at auction on June 8, 1957.
