This is the Hugh Jacob Kirpatrick home.
This farmland was bought by George Francis Meacham, and a farm built out for his son Leland. Following the untimely death of Leland, the farm was occupied by Hugh Jacob Kirkpatrick and Cora Gladys Meacham Kirkpatrick, she a daughter of George F. Hugh and Cora raised their family here - Dorothy, Gladys and George. Cora died in 1970 and Hugh died in 1976 at the age of 88. The farmland is now owned by the Richard Killey family. The home and buildings are owned separately. The house, corncrib and possibly the horse barn were all ordered from Sears. The building materials were transported via the Mississippi river to Oquawka and transported to Roseville by rail, according to family legend.
