Photo 54-FWA-25

My maternal grandparents lived here for 38 years. This is where my mother and all her siblings grew up. All of this is now gone and it is all in farm production. I recall many days on this farm with grandma and grandpa. Of course we would play in the barns hay mow and in the old double corn crib after grandpa had shelled the corn. I would have been 9 years old when this picture was taken. How many memories come flooding back; Christmases, family reunions, my aunts and uncles and cousins. We would play softball in the yard to the south just beyond those trees. It was much bigger than it appears. At night we would play hide and seek. Usually the large tree was the base. My grandma planted that tree, a soft maple the same year my mom was born, 1931. Like I said it is all gone now. Had sad to see these family farms disappearing and farming becoming a big business.
