This coal mine closed in 1980. It was under several different owners during its' lifetime. The mine provided several hundred good paying jobs to West Frankfort, IL...and Johnston City, IL areas for many years. I go by the area to where this thing stood now...it's a vacant field...uninhabitable...so many memories. Excellent photo and reproduction...It's going to allow me to build a 1/87 scale model of the mine complex. Thanks to Vintage Aerial for making these great photos available.
