Montgomery Ward Department Store Building at East State and Milford Road Rockford Illinois

I believe a grocery store occupied the west end of this building at the time this photo was taken.

Store that is in this building today is the Valli Produce Grocery Store

Mulford Park apartment complex to the top right

The Shell Station on the bottom left corner remained in operation until around the early 2000s. During this time period, however, it had been upgraded to utilize two large modern-day "shelters" for the pump area, as opposed to the usage of the three small pump stations seen in this photo. It was demolished entirely in 2011 and replaced with a modern commercial building with two stores.
