The Edgebrook Shopping Center at North Alpine Road and Highcrest Road in Rockford,Illinois

Pretty sure this is the Edgebrook Shopping Plaza from Alpine. The image suggests that construction had begun only a few months before the photograph was taken.

This picture is before Edgebrook shopping center existed. The picture shows the old Clark gas station with the Pacemaker Grocery Store behind it. Next to Pacemaker is the Ace Hardware store under construction. The rest of the shopping center would be built a few years later in the grass field where we used to ride our bikes. The lower left corner shows Highcrest Sopping Center.
