This is the intersection of North Chestnut Street and 6th Street, Minonk, Illinois. It appears that the pumps are Texaco. We’re looking west in this picture, which is the opposite view of the Photo 24-FWO-4. That is the backside of the Citgo station. The railroad, in the foreground, is the Illinois Central’s ‘Gruber Line’. At one time, Chestnut Street was the original alignment of U.S. 51, which by this time bypassed Minonk to the west.
