Photo 166-NAL-2

This was my Great, Great Grandfather’s farm. Nathaniel and Sarah Fitch. 13 children survived to adulthood. Great history is known about this family. There is a Fitch road nearby and a mill. Nathaniel had a school built across the nearby creek where the children went to school. Early on, he had an encounter with an Indian.
Now, the house, which I hear was a meth lab burned down, and the barn with its hand hewn timbers is gone. Much of the farmland went as a gravel pit, and some of the land is now known as the Bicentennial Woods, under the Nature Conservancy. There is much more history known about my family history in Indiana.
