My father, Conley Davis, opened Davis Salvage Co. here in Sep 1960. It consisted of only the front part with the flat roof. As the business grew he added on to the building several times to what I see here. It was a successful and very popular store. The slogan was "Baskets, Caskets, and Gaskets".
