This is part of what was originally my Grgrgrgr Grandparents farm at 4699 E 1100 N Roann In.Henry Shoemaker and his wife, Edith (Elliott) Shoemaker homesteaded here on 1838. The Shoemaker family cemetery, est.1840 lies just NW on the corner of 450E and E1100 N, Miami County In. I now own around 3 acres , including the home and outbuildings. The house pictured burned in the early 90s, and the present home was built by Eric and Ruth Gordon in 1993.The barn still stands and was built @1933, the garage about 1942 ,along with the other outbuilding built between those dates.

Thanks a million for the photo! A couple of questions: (a) Which child of Henry and Edith do you descend from? (b) Any known photographs or portraits of Henry or Edith? (c) Who has the most family history knowledge of Henry's clan, and perhaps going even further back to the Tennessee/North Carolina days near Kingsport? BTW - I come from William Henry who moved to SLC UT who's sone later moved to SE Idaho.

Hi my name is Kevin Shoemaker, I'm the fourth great-grandson of Henry and Edith Shoemaker, is this property still owned by the Shoemaker family? Also I'm a little confused is this the homestead they built or is this just another home built on the property? I have a diagram that shows the layout of the old Homestead and it seemed like they put it right near the Shoemaker Cemetery. I'm descended from Henry and Edith's son John and his son Enos.
