That has to be Cole's Tasty Freeze or whatever it was out south of town on 9 - before you turned to go to Sand Lake - back in the day before Sand Lake was "in the park".

It was called the HillTop and it was on SR9 just south of the intersection at SR9 and 100N south of Albion.

Can't be hilltop. Baseline road would be next to it - which predates the photo.

I can remember going here with my parents to get ice cream when I was a kid. Always a fun thing! I remember it sitting up higher on the hill.

This was the HillTop owned by Gilbert and June Cole. That was my parents. It was on top of hill which is no longer there. state rd 9 was redone in 1967-8 and road was dropped like 20 feet. Put them out of business

S. wrong. That was indeed the Hill Top drive-in and predates the Hill Stop Cafe. The Hill Top drive-in and Hill Top Cafe are/were at 2 entirely different locations. The Hill Top drive-in was on SR9 approx 200yds south of 100N on the opposite side of SR9 and almost directly across the road from Kevin Clouse's storage units. The Hill Top Cafe is at the corner of SR9 and Baseline Rd and is what you're referring to.

Correction.. Hill Top, not Hill Stop. Fat fingers. :D
