This is Orange Road looking north towards New Road. It is the Shuppert Farm, I believe. There were beautiful tiered ponds just north of the house. A creek runs under Orange Road from our pond to the lowest pond on Shuppert's land. The Clingenpeel Woods is on the east side of the road. It had the most amazing stand of Virgin Beech that I have ever seen.
Jacqueline is right! The Shuppert farm was one of the last tracts acquired by the State of Indiana for Potato Creek State Park. Photos of the farm taken in 1898 are featured in South Bend Tribune issue from June 5, 1977.
