Little Company of Mary Care Center of San Pierre

I remember visiting here when I was in middle school in the mid '90s and it was a nursing home. It's since been demolished.

Built as a hospital. Became a retirement home for priests and nuns. Finally served as a general public nursing facility. The ground is now just a grassy memorial with a stone marker.

Such a sad waste of a beautiful building and a piece of San Pierre history, now gone..... When it was demolished in 2008, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, that building was still in great shape and was just remodeled and updated, but they just couldn't sell it because of the economy, so instead of closing it up and waiting for the market to pick back up, and sell it then, they tore it down and got rid of it. That place was the heart and soul of my great town, and it will never be the same without it....
