This is the small cluster of houses north and northeast of the Mount Pleasant United Brethren Church east of Metz, IN. This is looking northeast, with Steuben County Road 850 E in the foreground and Metz Road angling up to the right in the background. The farm in the foreground belonged to Minnie Lechleidner and was farmed by members of my family; I remember she kept a tin cup hanging by a spigot on the back side of the house where I would get welcome drinks of cold water on days when we were stacking hay in the barn in the intense Midwestern summers. The house at the lower left belonged to the McKinley family; Jim McKinley was our hired man when I was a kid, and his sister occasionally was our babysitter. Mount Pleasant United Brethren Church is just out of the frame to the lower right.
we lived in the tenant house on the corner around 1950 when I started to school, my father farmed for Lester and Minnie. they had a team of horses, Lester had a farmall, I cant remember whether it was an f-12 or f-14, and dad had a wc allis-chalmers.
there is a typo, in my name, above (no b)
