Rockford (Barber’s Mills) Friends Church

I grew up in the house in the right of the picture. I went to the church as a child, until they tore the church down. I played in the graveyard all the time. The kids in Rockford and I would play in the graveyard at night.. 1971 to 1990

Hi Rich! How fascinating to hear about your memories of growing up in Wells County! We would love to learn more about the area during that time. Did you ever attend any community events or fairs that were held nearby? Also, if you don't mind sharing, what type of farming was common in the area in the 1970s and 1980s?

We went to the Street Fair in near by Bluffton every year as well as the wells county 4H fair, the farming was corn and beans, I baled a lot of hay for the local farmer. Did a lot of fishing in the Rock Creek by my house. I went to Rock Creek school K-2nd. I met a girl in Rockford 1/2 a mile west and we have been married for 30 years...
