This was my parents farm. Joseph and Stella Shaffer. Dad built the white barn, that we referred to as the “corn cribb”. Majority of the wood used to finish it out came from the old Washington Center school gymnasium. The foot prints of my sisters and myself are still in the cement of the floor. The old barn would be taken down and a pole building will replace it in 1969. The house is actually a log house with an addition built on it. The logs were stuckoed and later aluminum sided. We lived in that house until 1980. Dad built a house that he and mom designed. They built the new house right behind the old house. Today this house would be located where the cement drive approaches the new house.
