This is the eastern half of my grandfather's dairy farm, and his name was Weir Uhlenberg. This side of Hammond Avenue includes a rental home, the milking parlor, cattle yard, and the calf sheds. I was a freshman in high school when this photo was taken. The primary house was on the west side of Hammond along with multiple machine sheds, pig barn/nursery, and several grain and corn sheds. One of the largest dairy farms in the area at that time, we milked 80-120 head at the peak. We lost this farm to foreclosure during the late eighties. The new family that moved into the main house, renovated it and invited us back to see the changes - they really did a great job.
