My father (Lawrence Vanderwerf) built this house. My whole family helped with the house construction. We laid the oak flooring, helped carry shingles to the roof, and helped with the interior painting. It was a labor of love and we have many wonderful memories while living here. We moved into the house in 1966, at the beginning of my 7th grade in school. My family lived in this house for many years. The trees in front of the house were taken out during a wind storm.
