Photo 47-PCA-24

Henry and Fritz Grote owned this 320 acre farm for as long as I knew. But my uncle Paul and Aunte Billie farmed it from about 1940 until the 1980s when my brother Ron farmed it. Paul's brother (my dad) farmed another of the Grote places on the other side of the section in the upper right of this frame. All my aunts and uncles and cousins would gather in this house on Christmas day to celebrate and exchange gifts. How we all fit and were fed is a tribute to the women who put it all together.

I just bought this house is 2021 it’s sad to see that the only buildings left are the house and long barn directly behind the house
