During the 40's/50's,this property owned by Rudy/Dena Saliger, was called "Rudy's Service". One gas pump(Standard Red Crown Gas),4 seat café counter, small grocery store & living quarters all under same roof. A 2-stall auto repair garage sat on corner. Also conducted an ice delivery business as well as farming a portion of that acreage. Rudy/Dena had 3 sons; Rudy Jr, Donald, Robert. Don worked for the Feed Elevator, drove gravel truck for Cerro Gordo County, & worked nights at the Surf Ballroom before moving his entire family to Folsom, CA. in early 1962. Robert worked for the State Parks Dept. in & around Clear Lake before moving to Folsom, CA. in 1960.
