Lots more around it now; a Motel 6 and Sonesta Simply Suites are in the field at the left of the photo and office buildings now occupy the field at the bottom. The gas station next to it is now a McDonald's.

The field at the top of the photo was, and still is, Des Moines Golf and Country Club.
