This is my family farm where I grew up. My parents, Elvin & Jean Rector, bought it in 1955 and raised my brother, Fred, and I here. After my parents passed, my husband and I inherited the farm and have lived here since 1992 and raised our daughter, Katie, on this farm. We continue to live here and operate a small family farm raising cattle, hay, corn & beans. Work is being done this year (2018) to put steel on the barn & old hog house and a pond east of the home site is having repairs and reconstruction done to rebuild the dam and enlarge the pond area. The old corn crib has all but fallen down & will be replaced with a new cattle shed later this year or next. The house had a front deck added on in 1996.

A pear orchard of about 15 trees had been established during the Great Depression era by previous owners but by the late 1970's to early 80's, the trees had died off and that area was cleared off for cattle pasture.
