This is the farm I grew up on, barn and corn crib were destroyed by a storm

This is the Ginger farm as i knew it and it was in the Ginger family from late the teens to the mid fifties . It’s a two story all red brick with a rare clay tile roof and was built by the Wilkersons in the early teens. We moved to Arkansas in 1952 and my dads cousin Raymond Ginger had it then after a family dispute. Back in the early 30’s and 40’s my grandfather Will Ginger and family lived here. Will Ginger started up the game of polo in the Paullina area and they would practice Northwest of the round hog house. My dad ,Jim Ginger and mom were married in this house in 1948 and I came along in 1949. The creek you see in the pasture to the west of the barns is named after family ,Ginger Creek. After seeing the place in 2018 the only thing left is the barn closest to Sorrel Road and the cattle shed off the SW corner of barn and the all red brick home .

The Henry VanHeuvelen family moved on the farm March of 1958 as a renter and bought the farm in 1968. Henry farmed until 2007. Henry sold the acreage but keep ownership of the farm land.

Thks for update , then your dad would of bought it from Raymond Ginger at the time? Were you raised up at the farmhouse and also do you presently own the home ? I have pictures of around side entry but mostly of front of house when family came or dad was on leave from Army during WWII . Would be glad to share if you email me. My dad 1919-1976 was raised up their from 1930 till we moved in 52. His brother Jack 1923- 2010 moved from farm after getting married in 47 to their farm at 4018 Taft Ave that his son,my cousin Rick ,presently owns and farms .

I think Bert Axdahl bought the farm from the Ginger’s. At that time we lived on a neighboring farm. Dad 1919-2017 started to rent the farm from Bert in 1958. Yes if you have pictures from the farm I would like to share them with my family. My parents loved that house and took pride in it. In the early 60’s the Wilkerson family would come to visit the farm and always wanted to see the house.
None of our family lives in the Gaza and Paullina area anymore. The acreage was sold but our family still owns the land.
