This farm was owned by a lawyer in Des Moines C. R. Kinney. It was farmed as a dairy farm by my father, Clifford Rogers from 1963-1970. The land is now barren of buildings. It is located 1 mile south of Kelley and about 1/2 mile west of the road going to Slater.

I lived here for 7 years from 5th grade until 12th grade. My dad milked a herd of 90 in the dairy barn. It had a really upscale pipeline from the Miller to the large cooling tank. We raised chickens and hogs for our family dining pleasure.
Chores early before school and after school to feed the calves and gather eggs for cleaning and selling what we didn’t need.
The next house on this roll was part of the property where our hired hand lived. His daughter was my best friend!!
