This farmstead, which is completely gone now, was a half mile north of Milford on the east side of the road. It was one of the Christy farms. In the upper left corner of the picture is an example of the electric poles for the electric line that was put in place in 1948 and went from near Marshalltown to near Boone. In the twenties some of the teachers at Milford, when the Consolidated School was new, lived in this house and, on pleasant days, would walk the half mile to School.
