This was our farm when the photo was taken. That is our '76 Ford F250 Highboy and our '75 Beetle in the photo, and it looks like the Ford Fairmont beside the house. The address then was hwy 92, but it is now Montpelier Road, and the farm road is actually designated Markle road now. Almost nothing in that photo is still there now, except the two barns, which were brand new then, and the house foundation, which we were building up the hill at the time. The beautiful oak tree in front of the lower barn was struck by lightening in the early eighties. The house, which was a settlers cabin with three additions, was not salvageable and we tore it down. The old wash house, privy, chicken house and shed were all bulldozed in the late nineties. The old well house was bulldozed too, and the well filled in. Even the lay of the ground is different now. The spring in the middle of the field behind the house was dammed, and there is a two acre lake there now. The old pear tree and apple trees fell down. Literally nothing is as it was.
