My class was the first class to start first grade there when it first opened in 1960, and to be the first class to complete all 8 years of grade school there. There was no basketball court or addition then(the addition was a library that was added around 1966). And the drive and parking lot was all gravel then. Some of the best times of my life.

I was in 8th grade in 1979 and grandfather helped build this school plus 4 more in Casey county

I started school there in 1972 after my parents moved back to Kentucky from New Jersey where my father was stationed during the Vietnam War. I graduated 8th grade in 1979. My Grandmother Helen Mills taught remedial English at this school.

I graduated from Cox in 1982.I spent a lot of time on that court shooting hoops from 5th grade until graduating.Alot of fun times and good friends.I can still remember the layout of the classrooms in the school during my time there. It deserved a better fate than it received.

First of all, it opened before 1960 but I'm not sure of the year. I started to school there in 1959. We didn't have a library or much of a playground.

I was in the last class to graduate from here in 1988. My mom went here too and I even had a few of her teachers.

I went to school here in 1962.This is where I graduated from 8th grade in 1965.

Cox school, Douglas,Phillips,Phelps, and Garrett school opened in 1958.

Cox school, Douglas,Phillips,Phelps, and Garrett school opened in 1958.

I was at Douglas when it closed and the students were devided and sent to our school. Cant remember what year?

I went to Cox elementary from kindergarten through second grade. Mrs. Coffey was my favorite teacher. I remember she used to pack me around. Mom said that Mrs. Coffey wanted to take me home with her. Many memories from that school. Can't remember that one teacher that had blonde hair but she used to take us outside under a tree and give us cool-aid and read us a story. Mrs. Beeler was my second grade teacher. She gave so much stuff to take home at the end of school year. Then the school closed. Started third grade at Middleburg elementary.
