The old Hagan School house. My brother Bobby owned it at that time. It is now being tore down. My sister Jackie Lyvers owns the property now.
My dad John Edgar and mom Grace Smith, owned this house. It was also where he attended school. Reuben Smith is his father. This place was also called "The Ponderosa", and held many family gatherings. Many memories made here!
I own this property now. The old Hagan Schoolhouse was torn in 2017 and my new home was built here just beyond the trees, and was completed in early spring of 2018. The old driveway remains as well as the mailbox post, which was part of a light pole and is still in use today. I have a different driveway that I use daily. I got rid of the locust trees that were on the left side of the house and one of the water maple trees that was crowding out 2 sugar maple trees. I kept some of the salvageable boards, old windows and window weights, character boards with initials carved in them, and some of the siding that came off the house.

I held my breath as the basement to my new home was being dug out, hoping that we didn't hit "rock bottom", which didn't happen. I do however, have a pretty good pile of rocks that I have picked up after rains, they just keep coming to the surface! I love it, I'm back home.
