This historic house was built in 1901 for Daniel Jones Prewitt. The Prewitt family, for whom the Prewitt Pike is named, once owned over 3,000 acres in the immediate area. Prewitt family descendants still own and farm around 1,000 acres. This house and farm is now owned by a Prewitt descendant.
