Friel's Mill, Main Street, Smyrna Mills, Maine

Worked there growing up . All that's left is the building in the upper left . That at the time was the new sawmill

Friel had a hardwood mill in Waite, Maine, as well as this one. Closed it around 1963.

Interesting to see the glimpse of the Smyrna Mills graveyard in the top of the photo. My Uncle Lewis Leavitt who died in 1953 is buried there.

i hauled logs into this mill , vinal would say, tell ted what you had on. I miss those men .....ted, vinal and tubby
