Judson Dewitt/ Carl DeWitt farm on Rt. 2 County Rd. in New Limerick.
Yes, this is my mothers father, Judson and now brother Carl Dewitts farm. I was the youngest of 7 and I have memories of playing in the barn. My siblings were older and picked potatoes back in the day and were able to be around the horses. All of the outer buildings are gone. I was there 2 years ago to visit Uncle Carl and aunt Betty Dewitt, the house has never changed. It still has all of the old character.
This was my Dad & Mom's farm back in the 50's. I grew up here in my high school years, with my brother Carl & sister Genevieve "Dem/Jeni". The three of us all graduated from Ricker Classical Institute. Pulled mustard & kale from the potato rows during the growing season & picked plenty of potatoes at digging time out in the back fields. Lots of good memories back in the 50's.
Many changes since I was there. The only thing left now is the home & garage.
my wife & 3 kids p8icked potatoes for jud in the 60 s. great family.
This farm was originally built by my husbands great uncle James Hagan. He farmed and lived there with his wife Rowena and daughters Ruth and Louise. I think they sold it to the DeWitts in the 50's and moved to town.
